Seattle area Flex Users Group SeaFlex

I went to the first Seattle area Flex users group meeting on Thursday night. The turn out was impressive for the first meeting of a user group. Not since attending Amiga User group meetings back in the late 80s and early 90s have I seen a user group with more enthusiasm and passion.

Unlike those old days, Adobe’s support was there all the way. (Commodore was absent for Amiga users in more ways than can be counted.) In addition to providing the facilities, representatives from Adobe were present including Chris English who is the account manager for Boeing.

I was a little disappointed that I was the only Boeing developer at the meeting. Hopefully Boeing will be better represented at the next meeting.

I was lucky in that I won the first attendance prize, the “ActionScript 3.0 Cookbook” from O’Reilly
